The Afghanistan Investment Support Agency, in collaboration with the German Federation of Industries (BDI), organized a European Road Show commencing February 2, 2006 and concluding February 9, 2006.  The investment promotion tour covered the cities of Copenhagen, The Hague, Hamburg, Paris and Munich.

MIGA Insures Cotton Project in Afghanistan

WASHINGTON, DC, February 27, 2006—The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), a member of the World Bank Group, said today it has provided $1.07 million in investment insurance (guarantees) for a cotton project in northern Afghanistan. The guarantees will protect the investment against the non-commercial risks of currency transfer restriction, expropriation, and war and civil disturbance, including terrorism.
