Mazar-E-Sharif
Mazar-e-Sharif is located in the Balkh Province and is the second biggest city in Afghanistan after Kabul, with around 1 million inhabitants. The city is just three and half hours away from Kabul and 2 hours away from the Tajikistan border. The main agricultural crops grown in the area are wheat, rice, corn, sesame, and grass pea. Mazar-e-Sharif is mainly known for its cattle and leather production industry. The region also benefits from precious stones, such as emeralds and lapis lazuli.
Location of Park: Located 7 km north of downtown Mazar-I-Sharif, and about 12-15 km from the airport, this site of 36 ha (89 acres) gross and 28.8 ha net (71 acres), will allow for the creation of a model industrial estate, ideal for enterprises of different sorts. The estate lies next to a textile factory, a joint venture of two companies, one French and the other Russian, employing about 200 people.
